Sunday, November 2nd It is clear in the final days of this campaign that the voters have rejected Wayne Parker's campaign of lies and deception. His negative attacks have been discredited by those who know the truth and have had the courage to speak up. Dr. Greg Cotter, a Chancellor with the American College of Radiation Oncology, has publicly defended my medical record calling charges against me "dishonest," "wholly inaccurate," and "grossly inappropriate." Additionally, my opponent has questioned my patriotism in a series of negative ads that are considered among the nastiest attack ads running on the airwaves in the entire country. The ads are so bad that a local television station refused to air them because they are deceptive and takes my quotes completely out of context. The Alabama Christian Coalition and the Decatur Daily have condemned the ads and publicly lashed out at the right-wing attack machine that funded them – Freedom's Watch and its director and financial backer, Sheldon Adelson, a Las Vegas casino baron. While my opponent continues to spread lies, the truth prevails. You can see this by the list of people and organizations that have endorsed my campaign. I am humbled and very proud to be endorsed by Congressman Bud Cramer who has served this district with integrity and honor for the past 18 years. I will follow in his footsteps and serve as an independent voice on behalf of North Alabama in Congress. The Blue Dog Coalition has also endorsed my campaign – a testament to my position as a conservative committed to fiscal responsibility. I have also been endorsed by ALFA, Alabama's realtors, nurses, firefighters, police, District Attorneys, and many others. During these final days I will continue to focus on the issues at stake in this election. I will take the high ground while my opponent sinks lower and lower. I am in this race to work on the issues that matter most to our families – protecting our space and defense jobs; recruiting new industry to our region; investing more in our roads and universities; closing our borders to illegal immigration; improving our schools so our children can thrive and prosper; and to protecting our nation from attack.
As we countdown to November 4th, I will be traveling all around the valley all day, every day to ask for your vote. As this campaign comes to a close it is crucial that you not only vote, but talk to your friends and family about this campaign. Let them know that it is important to our future and ask them to support our cause. I will be working every minute from now until the polls close and I hope you can too. |
