October 20, 2008![]() Alabama Police, Local Prosecutors and Sheriffs select Parker Griffith as choice for Congress Huntsville, Ala. – Dr. Parker Griffith, candidate for Alabama's Fifth Congressional District, announced a key endorsement today in his race for Bud Cramer's seat. The Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police has chosen to support Griffith as their choice for Congress. "I'm honored to be endorsed by Alabama's police officers to represent them in Washington," Griffith said. "Every single day, dedicated men and women across Alabama put their lives at risk to protect and serve their communities. I am going to take that spirit of service to Congress and work every day to give them the support they need to do their jobs." The Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police officially endorsed Griffith Friday and includes around 8600 members. The endorsement was made after careful consideration of the qualifications and experience of both candidates for Alabama's Fifth Congressional District. Alabama Fraternal Order of Police President, Bill Davis says that Parker Griffith is ready to serve the Fifth District in Congress. "I am pleased to announce our endorsement of Dr. Griffith," said Davis. "He is the clear choice to represent the concerns of law enforcement officers all over the state of Alabama." Local prosecutors and sheriffs also were on hand to support Parker Griffith. "I worked closely with Parker Griffith during his time in the State Senate." said Tim Morgan, Madison County District Attorney. "He has fought for us in Montgomery and I know he will fight for us in Congress." Also on hand to endorse Griffith was Scottsboro Police Chief Ralph Dawe and Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely. Dr. Griffith adds the endorsement of the Alabama Fraternal Order of Police to endorsements he has already received from the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA), Alabama's Realtors Association, the American Medical Association, the Professional Firefighters Association of Alabama, the Blue Dog Coalition, and Bud Cramer himself. "I'm truly blessed to receive the support of Alabama's hardest workers," said Griffith. "I look forward to working for them in Washington and I won't let them down." Parker Griffith is pro-defense, pro-gun Democrat that will follow in the tradition of Bud Cramer's independent leadership. |
