5/29/08 MONTGOMERY – Today, the Alabama Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee (ARPAC) announced its endorsement of Parker Griffith in his campaign for Alabama’s 5th Congressional District. The endorsement is based on Parker Griffith’s pro-business, pro-REALTOR® voting record in the state legislature. Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) 2008 President and ARPAC Trustee Sherry Dinges said of Griffith, “Senator Griffith will support private property rights as well as the American dream of home ownership. His record in the Alabama Senate attests to that.” Dinges added, “He will be an advocate for the people of the 5th Congressional District just as Congressman Cramer has been.” “Senator Griffith is good for Alabama business. He has worked to protect REALTOR® and consumer interests in Montgomery,” said 2008 AAR President-Elect and ARPAC Trustee Joe Rhodes. “We know that he will continue to support small business in Washington. AAR is proud to endorse a candidate like Parker Griffith.” "I am honored to have the endorsement of the Alabama Association of REALTORS®," said Dr. Parker Griffith. “As a physician and small businessman, I understand that we need to work together and focus on issues critical to our economy and small businesses. In Congress, I will fight for economic growth across North Alabama and work to make health insurance more affordable and accessible." The Alabama Association of REALTORS® has a strong record of successful political endorsements. REALTORS® were the first to support Congressman Terry Everett’s first and subsequent campaigns. AAR also was the first state association to support Governor Bob Riley’s congressional and gubernatorial races. Additionally, AAR endorsed Senator Jeff Sessions’ attorney general and senatorial campaigns. The Alabama Association of REALTORS®, Alabama’s largest trade association, has 16,000 members statewide and is the leading advocate for private property rights and home ownership. Contact: Scott K.
