I would not have voted for the $700 billion bailout, nor will I support any plan that rewards businesses for bad practices at taxpayer expense. I believe any solution to this financial crisis must include more protections for taxpayers and not shift the burden of fixing Wall Street's problems to future generations. I am disgusted that we have found ourselves in this financial mess and that those that were in charge of monitoring these issues have let us down. We need to hold them accountable and ensure that we do not allow corporate executives who contributed to this problem to receive millions of dollars in compensation while shareholders lose everything.
I hope that Republicans and Democrats can come together to develop a workable solution to this crisis and to the other serious problems that face our country.

Rising Oil and Gas Prices |
High energy costs are the root of many of our problems as Americans. From groceries to gasoline and postage stamps, prices are rising everywhere as a result of high oil prices. While we develop new technologies that will allow us to become energy independent, we must all work together to find solutions to keep gas prices down in the short-term. This means finding environmentally responsible ventures to drill domestically.
